Factor, also known as Factor75, delivers ready-prepared meals to your doorstep. There’s not only no planning and shopping, but there’s no prepping, cooking or even cleanup either! You just pierce the plastic cover with a fork a few times and throw it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. The meals are fresh, not frozen, and taste delicious. I was amazed at the quality of the food. It honestly tasted like food that I’d get in a nice restaurant. I was impressed!
Factor is best for single people, or people who don’t have time to cook or choose not to cook. It’s also great if you are on a different diet than the rest of your family. For example, if you want keto meals, but the rest of the family wants to eat regular foods, you can just buy your own meals.
Here are a few meals that we enjoyed.
Cavatappi pasta with a creamy goat cheese, mushroom and tomato sauce. Served with herb-roasted zucchini on the side.
Blackened salmon served with smoked gouda cauliflower “grits” and broccoli.
A stuffed pepper casserole mimicking the flavor of chiles rellenos. Served with roasted green beans on the side.
The food was amazing! The meals that I tried all tasted like restaurant-quality foods.
It takes just a couple of minutes to reheat the food in the microwave. You just pierce the film with a fork and throw it in the microwave.
Factor will save you lots of time because you don’t have to plan, grocery shop, cook or clean up. Dinner is ready in minutes and cleanup just involves recycling the tray.
It doesn’t get any easier than this. You just pierce the plastic film and microwave the meal for a couple of minutes. The meals are designed to be reheated in the microwave. If you prefer to heat them in the oven, however, conventional oven instructions are included on the package.
Shipping is a flat $10.99. The food is delivered via FedEx or other overnight carriers.
They deliver to all the 48 contiguous states.
The meals come in a big cardboard box with ice blocks and insulation to keep them cold. The individual meals come in a plastic tray (#1 plastic) with a plastic film on top. The tray is then in a cardboard sleeve where the instructions and nutrition information are printed.
The cardboard box is curbside recyclable. The insulation in my box was also made of paper and was curbside recyclable. The gel inside the ice block is not recyclable and should be thrown in the trash. You can melt the ice block, cut the plastic and dump the gel into the trash. Then you can recycle the plastic ice block liner if they recycle #4 plastics in your area. The plastic food trays and cardboard sleeves are curbside recyclable.
Factor has the following dietary options that you can select in your settings.
In addition to the above dietary options, you can apply filters when selecting meals to limit the choices to non-spicy, pork-free, or without dairy.
You could select a calorie smart or keto option to help you meet your weight loss goal. The number of calories and other nutrition facts are clearly listed on the food labels.
Not only is it delicious, but their goal is to provide healthy food. They offer a variety of dietary options, and all meals include veggies. Having ready-made foods available in your fridge will help you avoid the temptation of ordering pizza or stopping at the fast food drive thru on the way home from work. You know that a delicious meal is already waiting for you as you leave work.
Ordering from Factor is easy. When you sign up, you select your dietary options and how many meals you want to receive each week. Then you input your basic information (name, address, etc) and your credit card to pay. The system will automatically select your meals each week based on the dietary option that you selected. You can select your own meals if you prefer, however, on the website or the app.
The cost depends on how many meals you order each week. Here is the current pricing as of the writing of this article.
If you have a friend who is interested in Factor, you may want to order together to save money and reduce the packaging that you need to recycle.
Factor can save you money if the alternative is eating out. If you’re looking to save money, however, you may want to go with one of the less expensive meal kit plans where you do the cooking such as HelloFresh.
